‘The Wiz’ has been beautifully revived and a brand new day is here in Atlanta at The Fox Theatre! This timeless classic has been brought to new life by an amazing creative team including Kandi Burruss, Todd Tucker, Jaquel Knight, and Brian Moreland.
They are taking the new musical on a tour throughout the country and stopping at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre from November 14 – 18.
‘The Wiz’ has always been an inspiring tale of a young girl just finding her way in a messed up world. Something we all can relate to.
Giving this iconic musical a stage to perform in front of a new audience with a new spin on an old classic is almost like experiencing it for the first time all over again.
During a sneak peek at the Atlanta Fox Theatre Marquee Club, where October 2, 2023 was labeled “The Wiz Day in Atlanta”, Kandi Burruss told us we’d feel every single song in our souls. And she was spot on! The entire cast gave outstanding performances during opening night. There was even a standing ovation when Melody Betts sang the house down as Evillene. My only wish for the entire show is that I would have loved to see more of Deborah Cox on stage, but hearing her sing live at all was more than I could ask for.
Every night of the show is already sold out so if you haven’t grabbed your tickets already, I’d suggest you go grab your credit card and start scouring the internet for resell tickets now. (Please check your sources before making any purchases from strangers!)

The production will eventually make its debut on the Broadway stage in 2024 with Wayne Brady starring as The Wiz.
