June 24, 2022 will now forever live in infamy as the day the SCOTUS overturned Roe v. Wade. That’s a crazy f*cking sentence to write but there it is. We hope it never happened. We prayed as it became more real. Now, we protect ourselves because we clearly can’t count on anyone else.
So what’s the plan? Stock up, whatever that looks like for you. Whether you are currently having sex, abstaining, trying to get pregnant, or trying your damndest not to, you need to make sure you have options for your future. For some, that’s getting an IUD. For others, that’s making sure you have enough pills in your subscription. For others, that’s grabbing a few extra boxes of condoms.
Now, I really don’t care what side of this decision you are on. But there are too many ways to get pregnant and too many reasons a woman might need an abortion to not think about the morning-after pill.
Roe v. Wade being overturned could mean way more than just not having access to abortions. If the people in power are going to continue making laws based on their Christian beliefs, all forms of contraception and conception could be at risk.
Roe v. Wade was our silent protector. Now we have to be vocal to keep ourselves safe. I’ve done some research on the cheapest online options I can find that can benefit anyone with a uterus. Use this list as a guide, but please do your own research.
How to Protect Your Reproductive Health
Hey Favor
Formerly known as “The Pill Club”, Hey Favor is a great option for regular birth control if you aren’t planning on getting an implanted option at your local gyno. It’s the cheapest online birth control option I’ve found for anyone who doesn’t have health insurance. They also have an emergency contraceptive that’s only $14.95 vs. the $50 you’d spend in a panic at the drug store. The best thing about them is they have 1-month, 3-month, and 1-year subscription options for your regular birth control so you never have to worry about running out.
Natalist
Natalist is a great place to find anything that has to do with planning, persisting, pregnant and postpartum families. They have cost-effective options for pregnancy tests, prenatal vitamins, lube, male fertility options, self-care, gifts, and more. Bundle up a few necessities and have them shipped right to your door.
Nurx
If you need another online birth control option, Nurx is great. They are a little more expensive than Hey Favor, but they have all the same perks and BC options. Nurx is also a great place to grab some prescription skincare for flare-ups during that time of the month or just to slow the again process.
Amazon
Now, as we all know, Amazon has everything but what I’m most interested in listing today are condoms. Whether you currently use them, hate them, or simply want to stock up, Amazon has so many options for larger boxes that will last you a while.
Bonus
Period Tracking Apps: Get rid of them. Email the company and request your data be deleted. Start to track on paper and keep it to yourself.
Organic Period Products: Cora and Blume are my favorite options.
