You may be too old for Trick or Treating, but you’re never too old to snack! Adult or not, I still want my Halloween candy. Candy corn is my kryptonite (don’t @ me). But I know I’m not the only over 25-year-old that still craves the same treats they did as a kid. This Halloween CharBOOterie Board is the perfect mesh of candy, classy, and cool. The ultimate party food. The best part about being an adult is you can still throw a cute party, but include some festive party drinks.
What Is A Charcuterie Board?
Join the trend! Charcuterie boards are pretty much everywhere at this point. If you haven’t seen one, thanks for letting me be your first! Charcuterie (pronounced shar-ku-ta-ree) is a French word for prepared meats such as bacon, ham, and other pork products. Most of them you see will include some form of prosciutto, salami, and sausages. The fun part is, you can put your own twist on your board to include some of your favorite things, like candy and desserts! Hence, how this Halloween chareBOOterie board was created!
How To Decorate Your Board
Decorating your board is the best part! If you’re planning a fall/ Halloween party, I’ve got you covered with some items below. If not, first think about the type of party you’re throwing. What’s the color scheme? Is it for kids, adults, or both? Does it go with a specific holiday? Once you have the theme figured out, choosing your items is easy. Pinterest is always a go-to but also remember your attendees. Choose items that will make them laugh, smile, and want to take photos of your hard work!
Halloween CharBOOterie Board
It’s a spooky cheese board you can eat! What could be better?!
- Charcuterie Board
- Plastic Spiders
- Plastic Skulls or Eyeballs
- Gourd
- Cheese Knife
- Cheese Spreader
- Plates
- Forks
- Napkins
- Flavored Popcorn
- Flavored Almonds
- Candy Corn
- Gummy Worms
- Hummus
- Pretzel Thins
- Cheese Chunks (2 or 3 kinds of cheeses)
- Salami (Prosciutto is good, too!)
-
Start with the largest items first. Play around with their placement until you get them just right.
-
Next, if you have multiple flavors of one item, place them so there is room for 1 of 2 items to sit between them so flavors don’t blend together.
-
Next, if items go together, such as hummus and crackers, place them next t each other for easy access.
-
Next, add your food items that have a little color! Pop them around the board so the eye is drawn to all sides.
-
The most time-consuming part is the meat, so you should do that next. Fold in half and then fold in half again to make a small triangle shape. Get a few folded in your hand before placing them down. Continue until you fill the spot.
-
Once all your food items are placed, fill in any holes and add more where you can.
-
Lastly, place your fun, Halloween pieces around the board. Make sure there is something to see on all sides.
-
Place on your table and watch everyone enjoy!
Portion control is key. The amount of each food item you will need depends on the size of your board. Choose your food items and portion out the board evenly for each. When you head to the store, grab enough for one board and one refill in case items run out before the party is over. As sections run low, you can fill them back up quickly and easily while keeping everyone happy.
