Grub Bowls and Wraps is having their official Grand Opening this Saturday from 11 am – 6 pm. Their Virginia Avenue location is gifting the first 50 guests with a free bowl or wrap. Everyone who attends will enjoy prizes, giveaways, photo ops, and raffle items.
My original review of this amazing new, healthy restaurant in Hapeville can be found here, but if you’re still not convinced you should keep this spot on your radar for more locations throughout the city, here are my top 3 reasons why Grub Bowls is my new favorite to-go spot.
1. I’m Tired of Fast Food
Pretty much our only options in the city of Atlanta have to do with greasy burgers or chicken wings. It’s not ideal for someone who likes to mix it up and try new things. Fast food gets extremely boring so I was happy to see something new come into the city. There’s no drive-thru, so you do have to go inside. But there’s something different when you can watch your food being made with love and see how it’s all put together. I have no problem taking an extra few minutes to get something delicious and different from the fast food options Atlanta loves so much when it tastes so good.
2. The Airport Area Needed Something Healthy
Driving to the airport, you are surrounded by many not-so-good choices for a quick bite to eat. There are plenty of sit-down restaurants to choose from in the area but nothing quick you can eat in the car on the way home or back to the airport to catch your connecting flight. Similarly, your options inside the airport aren’t that great either. A wrap or bowl is both perfect to bring with you in either scenario. The quickest food is normally not the healthiest but sometimes it’s all you’ve got time for. It’s nice to know someone who knows the area so well saw an issue and made a point to fix it.
3. The Owner, Chef, and Staff Are Amazing
The owner, Philip Jones, is extremely personable and has been physically in the building and putting in the work to make his newest establishment run smoothly every time I’ve stopped in. The restaurant is Black-owned, has a Black chef, and employs a handful of Black staff members in Atlanta. Supporting Black-owned businesses is a huge part of my beliefs and the fact that they make this restaurant so easy to love is perfect. You’re always greeted with a smile and everyone seems genuinely happy to see you. You can feel the love in the room and their love for their menu shines through with every bite.
Hope to see you there this weekend and, if not, I know you’ll enjoy whatever you choose from the menu!
