There’s a lot that you can do to try and optimise your looks, ranging from picking out the best outfits, to becoming a true black belt in the art of makeup application.
Out of all the different things that people do to look their best, however, one of the trickiest areas of physical appearance and presentation to get right, is proper skin care.
People who have great skin quality, are simply always in a position where they’ll look like their “best selves”, regardless of most other factors.
Luckily, a lot of technology exists today to help maintain optimal skin quality. For example it’s possible to get rid of acne scars with fractional co2 laser.
But what if you want to go a more “natural” and “holistic” route, first?
Well, here are a few natural tips for improving your skin quality.
Try Cold Water From Time to Time
Hot baths and showers feel good, as does hot water in general. After all, that’s probably the main reason why people have been seeking out hot springs and turning them into thermal spas for millennia.
The thing is, all that hot water isn’t necessarily going to do wonders for your skin. In fact, hot water is known to be pretty harsh on your skin as a rule, and strips away natural protective oils among other things.
By contrast, cold water bathing (or at least cold water face washing) is often advocated in alternative health and beauty circles as a way of making your skin glow.
Of course, this is the kind of thing that you need to ease yourself into, unless you want to come down with a cold every couple of days. But it’s worth trying out cold water bathing from time to time.
Get a Good Balance of Vitamins and Minerals in Your Diet
It’s hardly a secret that the quality of our skin is determined to a large degree by the balance of vitamins and minerals we get in our diet.
The thing is – the key word here is “diet,” and not “supplement regimen.”
Vitamin supplements may do some good, but there is evidence showing that they are often not absorbed very well, and can even cause certain imbalances and harm.
If you want to look your best, focus on getting plenty of vitamins and minerals in your diet, from things like leafy greens, fruit, and so on, rather than from pills.
Get Plenty of Fresh Air and Low-Level Exercise
When people think of exercise, they often think of high-intensity training – sprint intervals and the like, for example.
Interestingly enough, a lot of research indicates that simply getting fresh air, and a lot of low-level exercise (think walking around) on a daily basis is one of the best ways to enjoy optimal health.
This kind of exercise, and fresh air exposure, improve circulation among other things – which means more radiant and healthy skin.
