If you’re worried about staying cool this spring/ summer heat, you’ve definitely come to the right place. Whether you live in a warm country or you’re traveling to places that are a higher temperature than you’re used to, you need to ensure you’re doing everything you can to look after yourself in the heat. While it may seem difficult at first, there are lots of ways to keep yourself cool. From comfortable clothing to air conditioning units. The more you’re doing to look after yourself the better.
Find Comfortable And Breathable Clothing
One of the best ways to ensure you’re staying as cool as you can during hot weather is to find comfortable and breathable clothing. From linen trousers to chiffon blouses, there are lots of different options that will help you stay as comfortable as you possibly can. If you find that certain types of material work better for you than others, you might want to consider stocking up on some key items you can wear throughout the summer. Carry A Portable Fan
If you find you get really warm and there are not a lot of opportunities to find air conditioning, it might be easier to carry a small portable fan with you. The one I use all the time can be found on Amazon and only requires a couple of hours of charge to last the whole day. Whether you’re using it on the go or you’re keeping it on your desk, they can really help when it comes to staying cool in the unbearable heat.
Stay In The Shade During The Hottest Hours
The hottest hours of the day are usually between 12 and 3 when the sun is at its highest point. While it may be difficult, you need to try your best to ensure you’re in shaded areas during these hours. Not only will this help keep you cool but it will also ensure you’re protecting your skin from heat damage. If it’s unavoidable, consider carrying your own form of shade around with you.
Drink Tons Of Water
Another great way to ensure you’re staying cool during the hot weather is to drink as much water as you possibly can. If you’re not drinking enough water during hot weather, chances are you’re going to quickly become dehydrated, which could lead to further health issues.
If you need help when it comes to drinking more water, it may help to carry a water bottle around with you at all times. Not only is it better for the environment, but it will help encourage you to drink.
Keep Your Blinds Closed At All Times
If you find it hard to keep the heat out of your home, keeping your blinds closed at all times can actually help. Although it may seem counterproductive, having your blinds closed will help cool down the rooms in your house because you’re not allowing any sunlight to enter. Blackout curtains come in plenty of colors to match your home decor style.
Visit Places With Air Conditioning Or Misters
If you are going out and about you may want to visit places that have air conditioning units or misters. Often it can be hard to find shade and if that’s the case, misters are a great way to cool off. Although it’s a temporary fix, it can be super refreshing in extreme temperatures.
