Thanks to work or life in general, you’re alone more often than you’d like to admit. Not only does that mean finding new friends, but it also means looking for love, too.
Don’t see it as an obstacle but as an opportunity. Going on dates lets you meet new people and get to know the city you used to hang out in all the time. These are the four ways to dive in and take your love life back by the horns!
Ways to Find New Love
Sign Up To Dating Apps
I know. That probably sounds like the worst idea ever. But, let’s be real for a second. They are incredibly easy to use and right at your fingertips. If nothing else, it can give you a little clue as to who else is out that currently dating in your area. Tinder, Coffee Meets Bagel, and Bumble may be full of people looking for one-ff dates and one-night-stands, but we all know someone who’s met the love of their life on one of these apps.
Go Out Alone
You’re never going to meet anyone if you are too scared to leave your home alone. Sure, you’ll head out to work, the store, or the gym no problem. But going out drinking alone is a different matter. Somehow, it feels weird and a little pathetic; as if it’s a sign you’re friendless. Whether that’s true or not, no one is judging. In fact, you’ll end up meeting plenty of other people in the same position. So, when you go to a bar, look for someone who seems lost and start a conversation. Even if they’re not a romantic interest, they might be a great friend.
Use Your Hobbies
Often, opportunities arise when we least expect them. Do you know how many people have met at the gym? Granted, there are no official stats but the number must be high. And, it makes sense because both people love to work out and live healthy lifestyles. They have a common interest: exercise. Your hobbies can act in the same way as long as you join a club or institution that markets your hobbies. If you love soccer, then find a place to play during the weekends. Also, take the opportunity to socialize afterward as this is when people bond the most. There’s nothing like connecting over similar interests to make a new acquaintance.
Say Yes More Often
All of the above are excellent tips as long as you have the right attitude. It’s easy to talk to someone online and then take a rain check at the last minute. Yes, there is a stigma to going on a date with a stranger, but you can make it safe. Arrange to meet in a busy place where there are lots of people walking by. The same goes for going out alone and joining clubs. You can say it in your head, but it means nothing until you step out of the house!
Are you ready to say yes and put yourself out there again?
