The year 2020 was not the one that most people thought it would be. The excitement of going not just a new year, but going into the twenties, going into a new decade, a year where the same two numbers are repeated, something which only happens once every century; 2020 was supposed to be something special, and everyone had high hopes for it. However, with all the upheaval, the global pandemic has caused many people just can’t wait for this year to be over. But, there are still three months left of this year, and there is a lot you can achieve in three months and make 2020 your year.
Bite The Bullet
Think back to the beginning of the year and all the things you were going to do this year? Were you going to lose weight, get a new job, start your own business, or enrol on a course? Maybe you wanted to go back to college this year but haven’t been able to, so why not study online instead? Today, you can choose from a nutrition and health training course to a degree in finance all online. If you wanted to lose weight in time for a wedding and the wedding got cancelled, so you gave up on the weight loss then simply refocus your goal. There is still time before Christmas to lose the weight you want to and to go into 2021 feeling like you have achieved something.
Take a Chance
While many businesses have suffered this year to do the pandemic, new business models and new online businesses have thrived. From food deliveries to making masks, there are all sorts of new demands that have come from this pandemic and if you have an idea or you’ve always wanted to start a business, then take a chance and start now. Things won’t go back to the way they were, and now that we have seen how easy it is to conduct meetings via Zoom or entertain ourselves at home, people will continue to do that. Now is as good a time as any to start a new business, so take a chance and see what happens.
Think Positive
It might seem like an easy thing to say and if you have suffered the loss of a loved one, been ill yourself, lost your job or struggled to pay your bills during the last few months, then it is easier said than done to think positive. But, the key is to at least try to be positive. At the end of every day, think of three good things that have happened. Even if it was the worst day ever, perhaps you had a nice glass of wine or a bath, perhaps you saw someone that made you happy. Then think of all the things you are grateful for in your life; your family, your friends, the roof over your head. As you start to do this, you will start to notice things getting better, and by the end of the year, 2020 will have been a fantastic one.
